Procurement Manager

Clēnera is looking to fill a full-time Procurement Manager position at our Boise, Idaho corporate office. The qualified candidate must be able to perform the role, responsibilities and skills as outlined below.

Procurement Manager Role

Manage the supply of products and services essential for company’s operations; more specifically solar module procurement. Strategize, negotiate and secure the most cost-effective suppliers and discover the advantageous methods to minimize procurement expenses. Establish strategic partnerships with key vendors while negotiating over quality and prices for competitive advantages. Manage inventory quantities, specifications, international shipping, tracking and delivery of supplies. Manage all internal and external correspondence regarding procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials with management that optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria.
  • Conduct research to identify potential suppliers. Interview prospective suppliers to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc.
  • Create spreadsheets with vendor & product or service comparisons of prospective suppliers to support management decisions.
  • Prepare procurement execution plans and oversee the full array of materials management and procurement functions of purchasing, expediting, shipping, receipt and inspections, and logistics. Ensure compliance on all deliveries.
  • Develop plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various project and/or independent warehouse locations. Ensure maintenance of accurate records for all stored materials.
  • Inventory management, tracking and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with management in the negotiation of contracts and payment compliance with suppliers and subcontractors. Evaluate contracts as needed.
  • Prepare and communicate to the Sales, Design and Construction teams, product directions, availability, lead times, model transitions, and cost roadmaps for key materials.
  • Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
  • Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years of direct procurement/logistics experience required.
  • Familiarity with solar energy systems and components. Well-developed knowledge of the renewable energy industry and its material and supply base a plus.
  • Understanding of construction industry processes and procedures with hands-on experience in procurement, logistics or project management.
  • Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Outstanding effective communication skills.
