Jason Ellsworth leads Clēnera as President and CEO. He and Adam Pishl founded the firm in July of 2013. Jason possesses a unique background in technology, solar, manufacturing, development, professional management and project finance that helps Clēnera operate as an end-to-end service provider in developing, acquiring and managing large-scale solar power assets. Together with Centaurus Renewable Energy and a very capable operating team at Clēnera, Jason and Adam ensure that the firm is rigorously managed, agile and responsive to business and project needs.
Prior to launching Clēnera, Jason and Adam founded Sunlight Partners, a well-known developer of utility-scale solar energy plants. As CEO of Sunlight, he guided the development and commercialization of greater than 500 MW of solar generation projects across North America. Before Sunlight, Jason was Vice President and General Manager of U.S.-based solar manufacturer SolFocus. There, he developed the processes and manufacturing capability necessary to commercialize the SolFocus solar power generation product, including two highly automated manufacturing facilities. Jason worked at Corning prior to starting the manufacturing business for SolFocus. At Corning he led product, technology and business development as Director of New Business Development for the company’s technical materials businesses. During his tenure at Corning Jason and his development teams created the Gorilla Glass and DLP optical packaging businesses. Together, these product lines generate over $1 Billion annually. His efforts to support emerging solar companies such as First Solar and Mia-Sole sparked a passion for solar and renewables, leading to his departure from Corning in 2007 and launch of the business upon which SolFocus was built.
