Several Clēnera employees took time to decorate bowls that will be donated to the Idaho Foodbank's annual charitable event, Empty Bowls.
This event is one of the foodbank's largest events of the year. During Thanksgiving, the decorated and donated bowls will be available for purchase. The funds raised by this sale directly benefits the Idaho Foodbank, who provides nutrition and support for Idahoans experiencing food insecurity.
According to The Idaho Foodbank, more than 220,000 Idahoans - 11.4% of the state - experienced food insecurity in 2022. Statewide, 14.5% of Idaho children are food insecure. The Idaho Foodbank has several programs targeting the most vulnerable Idahoans: children, elderly, and those living in rural parts of the state.
This event is part of an employee-led initiative Clēnera Cares. In total, Clēnera employees decorated thirty-five bowls. If each bowl is purchased, it will be enough to fund nearly 1,600 meals.
Clēnera is dedicated to build the best solar power and storage projects in the U.S. so that we can contribute the most back to our community.
