Clēnera showcased its deep connection with Boise State University this fall with several sponsorship and engagement events across the school.
This year marked the first time Clēnera has been a sponsor of the Community and Sustainability Football Game. The Clēnera team showed up in force at a pre-game tailgate event, handing out more than 300 hotdog meals to the community, and interacting with guests with yard games and a prize wheel. Clēnera CEO Adam Pish interviewed with the Bronco Nation radio show to tell Clēnera’s story as a business born and growing in Boise. More than 150 Clēnera staff and family members attended the game, which featured an on-field presentation of $10,000in scholarships - a joint contribution from Clēnera and the Gratisol Foundation.
Clēnera’s Human Resources team also expanded its relationship with the university. This year, they represented Clēnera as a Visionary Employer for the College of Engineering. This program gives engineering and construction management students a direct line to Clēnera for internships and future career opportunities. This sponsorship enabled Clēnera to take over the college’s social media channels, publishing more than 20 videos, photos, and posts, featuring Clēnera employees who are alumni of Boise State, sharing their career journey and encouraging students to continue their education and jump into professional opportunities.
Lastly, Adam gave a guest lecture with the College of Business and Economics’ CEO Speaker Series. His talk focused on two primary factors for successful business: People and Purpose. During his presentation, Adam shared his story as an entrepreneur, growing up in Idaho, highlights about Clēnera’s mission and success, and ultimately how the most fulfilling work he does is giving back to his community. More than a hundred students and members of the public attended. Participants engaged in a robust Q&A and learned further of Adam’s experiences, leadership characteristics, advice for starting new businesses, and how he overcomes challenges.
Clēnera has deep roots with BSU. The company’s co-founders, Adam Pishl and Jason Ellsworth, met on campus. Though it would be several years before they went into business together, the university served as the starting point of their lifelong friendship. Today, Clēnera employs many BSU graduates and has built a strong recruitment pipeline from the university’s engineering, construction management, and business schools.
